Is a 2015 F-Type R E-Diff Oil Change Necessary? Owner Asks

Hello F-Type enthusiasts. As a new member and owner of a 2015 F-Type R, I’m seeking some advice from the community regarding maintenance. I recently acquired a beautiful 2015 F-Type R last summer, boasting remarkably low mileage at just 16,950 miles. Originating from Florida and meticulously cared for, it’s in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition.

However, like any car approaching a decade in age, certain maintenance considerations come to mind. Specifically, I’m pondering the electronic differential (e-diff) oil. I’ve come across discussions suggesting periodic e-diff oil changes to proactively prevent potential issues down the line. While my 2015 F-Type R has exceptionally low mileage, its age is now over nine years.

Therefore, the question is: should I proceed with an e-diff oil change now due to the car’s age, or is it more prudent to wait until it accumulates more mileage, perhaps another 20,000 miles? Given my moderate driving habits, adding that mileage could take a considerable amount of time. I’ve already purchased the recommended oil, but I want to ensure I’m performing maintenance based on genuine need and not prematurely. While the dealership history indicates consistent servicing, specific e-diff oil change records are unavailable to me.

I’m keen to hear opinions from other 2015 F-Type R owners or experienced mechanics. Is changing the e-diff oil now, based on age, a wise preventative measure, or is it acceptable to postpone it based on the low mileage and excellent condition of my 2015 F-Type R? Any insights or recommendations regarding e-diff maintenance for a 2015 F-Type R would be greatly appreciated.
