2024 Civic Engagement Summit: Detroit Gathering for Community Leaders

Our communities flourish when every voice is heard and valued through active civic and community engagement. It’s about people uniting to enhance their community’s quality of life, from volunteering initiatives to boosting voter participation. Engaged communities are the cornerstone of a brighter future.

On November 20, 2024, Detroit will be the venue for a crucial event: the Civic and Community Engagement Summit, hosted by the Michigan Nonprofit Association in partnership with the Council of Michigan Foundations (CMF). This summit builds upon ongoing dialogues within the charitable sector, emphasizing the significance of prioritizing community voices and fostering a robust democracy where everyone can actively participate.

This 2024 Civic gathering is especially timely, following the recent election cycle. It will convene nonprofit and community leaders to explore the critical role of community building in the current landscape, celebrate the impact of their work, and identify strategies to bolster our democracy. The summit is designed as a collaborative space for civic engagement advocates to connect, build supportive networks, and exchange valuable insights.

We encourage you to join us in Detroit for this important summit. It’s an exceptional opportunity to engage with peers and contribute to the vital conversation around civic engagement.
