Subaru has unveiled the highly anticipated 2024 BRZ tS, injecting fresh excitement into the beloved lightweight, rear-wheel-drive sports car. Building on the foundation of the already acclaimed BRZ, the tS variant – signifying “tuned by STI” – brings a suite of performance and luxury enhancements after two successful years on the market. Following closely on the heels of the Toyota GR86 Trueno Edition, the Brzts model underscores the ongoing commitment to refining and elevating the Toyobaru twins.
The official unveiling of the BRZ tS took place at Subiefest in Southern California, with detailed specifications released shortly after. Mirroring the performance-focused ethos of the GR86 Trueno Edition, the brzts boasts significant upgrades to its braking system. It features gold-painted Brembo brakes, utilizing four-piston fixed calipers at the front and two-piston fixed calipers at the rear. This upgrade promises enhanced stopping power and a more responsive braking feel for spirited driving and track enthusiasts.

Complementing the upgraded brakes, the brzts model incorporates STI-tuned Hitachi dampers, replacing the Sachs dampers found in the previous generation. These updated dampers are engineered to sharpen the already agile handling of the BRZ tS, ensuring precise control and responsiveness. Importantly, the spring rates remain unchanged, maintaining the balanced ride characteristics of the standard BRZ. The wheel and tire package is carried over from the BRZ Limited, featuring 215mm wide Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires mounted on 18-inch wheels, now finished in black. Distinctive “tS” badging adorns the grill and trunk, clearly marking this model as the brzts, a designation that resonates with driving enthusiasts.

Moving beyond performance enhancements, the 2024 brzts introduces new luxury features, most notably the inclusion of Subaru’s EyeSight advanced driver’s assistance system (ADAS) on manual transmission models. This addition is a significant step forward, providing drivers who prefer the engagement of a manual gearbox with modern safety and convenience technologies. The EyeSight suite includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and lane departure warning. While lane keep assist is typically part of EyeSight, Subaru has not explicitly confirmed its inclusion for the brzts. Remarkably, the integration of EyeSight ADAS extends to all 2024 model-year manual BRZs, not just the brzts trim.
Inside the cabin, the brzts treatment is further distinguished by blue accents, replacing the red accents found in the Limited trim, creating a unique and sporty ambiance. Unlike its predecessor, this iteration of the BRZ tS will not be a limited production model, instead securing a permanent position above the Limited trim within the BRZ lineup. With its blend of enhanced performance, refined styling, and added features, the 2024 Subaru BRZ tS reinforces its position as a top-tier sports car, offering enthusiasts even more reasons to celebrate the joy of driving.
