The standard Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is already a beast, boasting a formidable 6.2-liter supercharged LT4 V8 engine producing 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. However, Hennessey’s expert technicians, with over 32 years of experience in pushing performance boundaries, take this muscle car to an entirely new level. They meticulously enhance the Camaro’s pushrod V8 with a host of upgrades, including a larger, high-flow supercharger and a high-flow air induction system. Delving deeper into the engine, Hennessey’s modifications are extensive. The cylinder heads are expertly ported, and custom HPE camshafts are installed. Furthermore, critical valve train components such as intake valves, exhaust valves, valve springs, retainers, lifters, and pushrods are all replaced with upgraded, high-performance alternatives. To manage the increased heat from this immense power boost, an oversized heat exchanger is fitted. Engine breathing is optimized with long-tube stainless steel headers and high-flow catalytic converters, ensuring peak performance and efficiency.
Years of dedicated research and development have culminated in the EXORCIST ‘Final Edition’, which is precisely calibrated with a finely tuned HPE Engine Management software upgrade. This software, in conjunction with the comprehensive engine overhaul, unleashes the full potential of the LT4 engine, resulting in a staggering 1,000 horsepower and 966 lb-ft of torque. This represents an astounding 54 percent increase in power and a 49 percent increase in torque over the stock Camaro ZL1. The performance figures are simply breathtaking: the EXORCIST ‘Final Edition’ achieves 0-60 mph in a mere 2.1 seconds, conquers the quarter-mile in just 9.57 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 217 mph. This level of performance places it firmly in hypercar territory, all while retaining the iconic Camaro ZL1 spirit.
The original EXORCIST, launched in 2017 on the sixth-generation Camaro Alpha platform, was famously created by Hennessey to ‘slay the Dodge Demon.’ At the time, the Demon’s 840 horsepower was outmatched by Hennessey’s 1,000 horsepower EXORCIST.
