The Countach 110: Redefining Playful Performance in All-Mountain Skis

Last year, the Countach 110 ski emerged as an instant favorite, quickly becoming the most requested and talked-about ski in our lineup. It expertly fills the niche between the Wildcat’s aggressive carving and the Commander’s big-mountain prowess, achieving a perfect balance of playful agility and confident charging capability.

Defining the Countach 110 is easiest by understanding what it isn’t. It’s not a purely aggressive, hard-charging big-mountain ski designed solely for steep descents, nor is it a dedicated freestyle park ski. Instead, the Countach occupies the sweet spot in between, offering a unique blend of both worlds. Despite its metal-free construction, this ski is far from lacking in power. It can confidently handle high speeds and challenging terrain, cruise effortlessly across varied snow conditions, and unleash playful maneuvers at a moment’s notice. Even when your legs are tired, the Countach remains forgiving and enjoyable, making it an ideal choice for long days on the mountain.

From big-mountain athletes pushing their limits to everyday skiers simply seeking fun and versatility, the Countach 110 resonates with a wide range of skiers. Everyone who tries a pair seems to instantly recognize its place in their ski quiver, often leading them to reconsider their reliance on other skis. After another season of daily use by our team, many of us are contemplating which of our other skis to sell or retire to the garage, solidifying the Countach‘s position as a daily driver.

The construction of the Countach is based on a European beech and poplar wood core, similar to our more directional skis. However, the Countach 110 distinguishes itself by omitting metal layers. This design choice enhances the ski’s pop, energy, and overall responsiveness. It features a generous shovel width and deep tip rocker, contributing to its excellent floatation in softer snow. The tail is low and supportive, yet slightly raised, providing a stable platform without sacrificing playfulness. The result is a ski that is burly enough to tackle demanding conditions yet surprisingly forgiving and easy to manage – as capable as it is user-friendly.

With a 110mm waist width, the Countach provides ample floatation for most snow conditions, excluding only the absolute deepest powder days. Surprisingly, it also delivers impressive hardpack performance, outperforming many narrower skis in firm conditions. However, the Countach 110 truly shines in choppy snow, offering exceptional support and stability while maintaining a surfy and maneuverable feel. It pivots and slashes effortlessly through tight trees and deep snow, proving to be both directional and playful – a truly remarkable combination for all-mountain skiers seeking versatility and performance.
