The Genesis Gv60 continues to push boundaries, this time showcasing its versatility beyond luxury urban driving with the unveiling of the Mountain Intervention Vehicle (MIV) Concept. Debuting at the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2025 in Davos, Switzerland, this purpose-built electric vehicle is engineered for critical rescue operations in the most demanding terrains and weather conditions. This reveal marks the third consecutive year Genesis has presented a concept in Davos, underscoring their commitment to innovation and design excellence on a global stage.
Following the Genesis X Concept in 2023 and the X Snow Speedium Concept in 2024, the GV60 MIV Concept further exemplifies the brand’s progressive vision. Displayed at the AMERON Davos Swiss Mountain Resort since January 20th, near the WEF venue, the concept has garnered significant attention for its innovative approach to emergency response vehicles.
The Genesis GV60 MIV Concept is specifically designed to provide robust support for rescue missions in challenging environments. Prioritizing both the safety of occupants and the effectiveness of rescue operations, this vehicle is a testament to Genesis’s engineering prowess.
Inspired by small unit support vehicles and built upon the foundation of the Genesis GV60 platform, the MIV Concept is an all-electric vehicle optimized for exceptional off-road capabilities. Its electric powertrain offers the advantage of silent operation, reducing noise pollution in sensitive environments, and minimizes its environmental footprint. Furthermore, the integrated vehicle-to-load (V2L) system provides a valuable mobile power source for essential auxiliary equipment during rescue scenarios.
Equipped with specialized snow tracks, the GV60 MIV Concept is ready to tackle icy and snowy landscapes. Inside, sports seats provide secure and comfortable support for occupants during demanding missions, while essential medical supplies and advanced emergency communication and warning systems are readily accessible. These features are critical for effective mountain rescue operations in extreme conditions.
Large carbon fiber fender flares are not only a visually striking design element but also serve a crucial safety function. They protect both bystanders and vehicle occupants while also shielding the vehicle itself from damage in rugged terrains. To maximize cargo capacity for rescue equipment, a custom heavy-duty roof rack is installed. Additionally, the rear hatch rack features modular attachment points, offering versatile storage solutions for a wide range of specialized tools and gear.
“Genesis takes pride in crafting safe, meticulously designed luxury vehicles that are bold, forward-thinking, and distinctively Korean,” stated Luc Donckerwolke, Chief Creative Officer of Genesis. “The GV60 MIV Concept expands upon this vision of comfort and care, extending it into the realm of critical rescue operations.”
The display of the Genesis GV60 MIV Concept at the AMERON Davos Swiss Mountain Resort concludes today, but its impact on the future of rescue vehicles and the continued innovation of the Genesis GV60 platform is undeniable.
