The Genesis Gv60 continues to impress, this time with the unveiling of the Mountain Intervention Vehicle (MIV) Concept at the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2025 in Davos, Switzerland. This purpose-built electric vehicle concept emphasizes Genesis’ commitment to innovation and design, extending its luxury and performance ethos into the realm of specialized rescue operations. Displayed at the AMERON Davos Swiss Mountain Resort, the GV60 MIV Concept has garnered significant attention, marking the third consecutive year Genesis has showcased a groundbreaking concept in Davos, following the Genesis X Concept and the X Snow Speedium Concept in previous years.
Designed specifically for challenging terrains and harsh weather, the GV60 MIV Concept is engineered to support rescue missions, prioritizing both occupant safety and operational effectiveness. Inspired by small unit support vehicles and built upon the foundation of the Genesis GV60, this electric vehicle is tailored for exceptional off-road capabilities. Its electric powertrain not only delivers powerful performance but also ensures silent operation, reducing noise pollution and minimizing environmental impact during critical rescue scenarios. Furthermore, the inclusion of a vehicle-to-load (V2L) system transforms the GV60 MIV Concept into a mobile power source, capable of supplying electricity to essential auxiliary equipment in remote locations.
The GV60 MIV Concept is equipped with a range of features specifically chosen for mountain rescue operations in extreme conditions. Snow tracks are a prominent addition, ensuring optimal traction and mobility across snowy and icy landscapes. Inside, sports seats provide enhanced support and security for occupants during demanding maneuvers. Recognizing the critical nature of rescue missions, the vehicle is also outfitted with comprehensive medical supplies and advanced emergency communication and warning systems, enabling effective response and coordination in emergency situations. Large carbon fiber fender flares are integrated to enhance safety, protecting both occupants and bystanders while also shielding the vehicle itself from potential damage in rugged environments. To maximize cargo capacity for rescue equipment and supplies, a custom heavy-duty roof rack is installed. The rear hatch rack further enhances versatility with modular attachment points, accommodating a wide array of specialized tools and gear necessary for various rescue scenarios.
“Genesis takes pride in crafting secure, exquisitely designed luxury vehicles that embody audacity, progressiveness, and Korean distinctiveness,” stated Luc Donckerwolke, Chief Creative Officer of Genesis. “The GV60 MIV Concept expands upon this vision of comfort and care, extending it into vital rescue operations.” The display of the GV60 MIV Concept at the AMERON Davos Swiss Mountain Resort concluded today, leaving a lasting impression of Genesis’ innovative spirit and its dedication to pushing the boundaries of vehicle capabilities and design. The GV60 MIV Concept exemplifies how Genesis is not only defining luxury but also exploring how its vehicles can contribute to safety and essential services in challenging environments.
