The result is the quickest-shifting helical-gear gearbox possible, compact, lightweight, and transversely mounted for an optimized center of gravity.
Furthermore, honoring the desires of Pagani purists, a genuine seven-speed manual transmission was developed, as a virtual manual was deemed insufficient. Engineering a manual gearbox capable of handling 1100 Nm of torque with synchronizer rings for a pure manual application was a significant challenge, but an essential element of the Utopia’s character.

Engineers, designers, and highly skilled technicians populate the Art & Science Research Center, the birthplace of the Zonda, while a new facility houses the production process. Producing approximately 50 cars annually, Pagani operates more like a sartorial atelier than a conventional assembly line.
From the Zonda, conceived by a small team with limited resources, Pagani Automobili has evolved into a company capable of realizing ambitious visions with unparalleled quality.
