Toyota Convertible 2024: Exploring the Land Cruiser Rox and 4Runner TRD Surf Concepts

Toyota is set to electrify the 2024 SEMA show with the unveiling of two striking convertible concepts. Known for pushing boundaries, Toyota has reimagined its iconic Land Cruiser and 4Runner models, transforming them into open-air adventurers. These concepts, the Land Cruiser Rox and the 4Runner TRD Surf, showcase Toyota’s innovative spirit and design prowess. Anticipation is building as automotive enthusiasts eagerly await a closer look at these unique vehicles at the upcoming Las Vegas event.

The Land Cruiser Rox concept, born from the creative minds at Calty Design, takes the robust Land Cruiser to new heights of open-air freedom. By removing the C- and D-pillars and integrating a retractable soft top, Toyota has engineered a true Toyota Convertible 2024 experience without compromising the vehicle’s structural integrity. Reinforcements were added to ensure the chassis maintains its rigidity, a crucial element for both on-road and off-road performance.

Further enhancing its adventurous appeal, the Land Cruiser Rox boasts half doors, flared fenders, and rugged off-road tires, signaling its readiness for challenging terrains. A prominent light bar is integrated for enhanced visibility, while steel bumpers and heavy-duty skid plates underscore its off-road credentials. Practicality meets style with a functional half-tailgate, complete with a swing-out spare tire mount for easy access. This toyota convertible 2024 concept is not just about aesthetics; it’s about embodying the spirit of exploration.

In contrast, the 4Runner TRD Surf concept channels a nostalgic vibe, drawing inspiration from the 1980s Southern California beach culture. This toyota convertible 2024 iteration of the 4Runner adopts a two-door configuration and a chopped roof, creating an open-air cabin reminiscent of classic beach cruisers. A roll bar adds a sporty touch and provides structural support, while also serving as a rack for surfboards, perfectly aligning with its surf-inspired theme.

The 4Runner TRD Surf stands out with its vibrant ocean-colored two-tone paint, accented with turquoise details, capturing the essence of a retro beach lifestyle. Off-road wheels and tires, coupled with a subtly lifted suspension, enhance its adventurous stance. While the exterior screams retro fun, under the hood, the 4Runner concept retains a modern powertrain. It features the standard turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, delivering 278 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. A custom exhaust system amplifies the engine’s sound, adding a deeper note to its performance, all managed through an eight-speed automatic transmission and a full-time four-wheel-drive system.

Both the Land Cruiser Rox and 4Runner TRD Surf concepts are confirmed to be center stage at the Toyota booth during SEMA 2024, which will take place from November 5th to 8th at the Las Vegas Convention Center. These toyota convertible 2024 concepts represent Toyota’s bold approach to design and its commitment to exploring new possibilities within its existing model lineup, offering a fresh perspective on the iconic Land Cruiser and 4Runner.
